Undergraduate tuition is $52,900 for the 2021-2022 academic year. The first year of attendance at the university will cost you $49,300 in tuition.

Graduate students have to pay $51,700 per semester in 2022 with an increase of 3% from last year’s rate. For medical students there is a different fee structure which ranges between $61,700-$68,700 depending on their program of study and whether they are full or part-time students. Law school tuition costs $56100 per semester while dental school tuition ranges between $58100-$69100 depending on whether you’re a full or part time student (tuition). Pharmacy graduate students should expect to pay somewhere between $54100-$65900 per semester but this may vary depending on whether you’re taking classes online or not (tuition). Nursing graduates should expect to pay anywhere between $55600 -$64000 each semester while engineering students can expect around 56000 -65000 each semester(tuition). Finally business majors will have their tuition costs ranging from 56000 -60000 each semester(tuition).

• A pathway program is designed for students who have already completed a qualification equivalent to an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) or similar qualification but wish to study at university level.
• A bridging program is designed for students who have not completed any qualifications similar to an ATAR or other qualification but wish to study at university level.

University/College Preparatory Courses

The University of New Haven admissions team welcomes applications from students who have completed their college preparatory courses. If you are planning to apply for admission, we recommend that you complete the following courses before applying:

• English (4 or more years)
• Mathematics (Algebra I and above)
• Science (two years of laboratory sciences; one year recommended)
• Social Studies/Humanities (four years) You will need to select a course of study that includes at least 30 credits in required coursework. The university also recommends several science electives depending on your intended major field of study. In addition, if you are applying for early admission consideration, please note that this program requires all applicants to complete at least six Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate courses by June 1st prior to enrollment.*

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent​

• You must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent to be considered for admission.
• You may be required to take placement tests if your previous grades or scores indicate you need additional preparation before enrolling in college-level courses.
• If your previous grade point average (GPA) is below 2.0, you will also be required to take remedial courses during your first semester at UNH so that you can improve your academic skills and achieve an acceptable GPA in order to continue on with your degree program.

SAT and ACT Scores​(not all applicants are required to submit standardized test scores, refer to undergraduate admissions webpage for details) ​

The University of New Haven requires students who are applying to the following programs to submit SAT or ACT scores:

• Undergraduate Nursing Program (Pre-Nursing)
• Associate of Arts & Sciences – Liberal Arts Option
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN-BSN)
• Master’s of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner, MSN-FNP option

If you are applying to one of these programs, it is imperative that you submit all official test scores from the SAT or ACT (including Subject Test Scores, if applicable). If your application does not include these documents, it will be incomplete and will not be considered for admission. If your application has been denied because it lacked required standardized test scores and/or transcripts from previous colleges attended, you may reapply when these items have been received by our office.

1 Letter of Recommendation​(at least one academic teacher recommendation is preferred)​

All applicants must submit a letter of recommendation. This letter should come from a teacher who has taught you in at least one class, not a parent or family member. The letter should be written on school letterhead and sent directly to the University of New Haven from the recommender. The maximum length for this document is one page.

The personal essay is a critical part of the university’s application process. It enables us to learn more about you as an individual and how you will fit into our community of scholars.

We want to understand your motivations for pursuing a degree at UNH, not just what courses you plan to take or what kind of career you intend to pursue once you graduate. You should write about why this school appeals to you, and how it can help achieve your personal goals and interests. In addition, we want to know more about who you are as an individual: What qualities do you possess that make yourself stand out from others? How do these qualities translate into the kind of student we want in our community?
