Review of Ole Miss

It’s a great school, a lot of resources

The University of Mississippi has a lot of resources. I have heard great things about the professors and the course content. I have also heard great things about their sports teams and career services department.

It’s an SEC school, a good location

The Southeastern Conference is widely regarded as the best conference in college sports, and attending a school that’s part of it means you’ll get to attend or watch Ole Miss Rebels games against top-tier competition. In addition, schools outside the conference (e.g., North Carolina) sometimes play Ole Miss, giving you a chance to branch out and see different match-ups.

If you want to travel during your college career, Mississippi’s location makes it possible for you to take relatively short trips to other states. For example, you can go hiking in the Smoky Mountains over spring break or visit friends at other schools on the weekends. The state also has a lot of great attractions of its own—and no matter where your interests lie, there’s sure to be something for everyone!

Ole Miss ranks highly among peer institutions such as Alabama A&M University (ALAAMU). It also stands out from other SEC schools because they have their own marching band called “The Pride of Mississippi.”

Good football and basketball teams

In the spring of 2011, we sent out letters to all high school seniors who were interested in playing basketball at Ole Miss. The response was overwhelming. Over 90% of the boys that we requested information from signed up to play basketball at Ole Miss. By fall 2011, we had a team that had 25 players on it and the recruits quickly improved our recruiting class by about 15 members, which helped us to have one of the top recruiting classes in the country for that year. I believe this is due to a combination of factors: first, we had a great coach in Andy Kennedy and an outstanding assistant coach in Tim Jones; second, there has been an amazing amount of success by all the other coaches who have come before us; and third, our facilities are top-notch and they are one reason why so many people want to come here.

Good sororities and fraternities

Greek life is famous for its value as a social network, but it also brings many other benefits. Those who are involved tend to receive better grades, get more involved in school activities and have better relationships with faculty members. When you join a sorority or fraternity, you’ll have access to an entire network of people who can help you land internships or find jobs after college.

Greek life is also known for being philanthropic—many organizations raise money for charities through annual events and other programs. And since members are often well-connected professionals after graduation, they can use their influence to help others in need. Many Greek alumni even go on to become Nobel Prize winners!

Ole miss is a great university.

Ole Miss is a great university for many reasons. As an SEC school, Ole Miss has good sports teams in basketball and football. It also has great fraternities and sororities, including my own fraternity, Sigma Nu. Being in a fraternity provides tons of opportunities to meet people from all over the country and become involved with the campus community. In addition to being fun, fraternities can also help you find a job after you graduate. Ole Miss has great academics as well, with professors that really care about their students’ success!
