How to Apply for Fashion Schools in Germany

Requirements

  • You must be a citizen of a country outside the EU, with the exception of citizens of Switzerland and some Eastern European countries, who do not need to apply for a visa.
  • You must be at least 18 years old or older on the day you begin your studies and have graduated from high school.
  • Your passport must remain valid during your stay in Germany. If it will expire while you’re studying abroad, it’s best to renew or replace it before leaving home—this way, your eligibility won’t be jeopardized by expired documents! Don’t forget: if you change your name (e.g., if married), make sure that all official documents match one another too.

German Language Skills

You will need to prove your German language skills on the application form.

You can get a certificate from the Goethe Institute, which is the state organisation responsible for promoting German language and culture abroad. You can also take a test at one of their locations or online before you submit your application.

If you want to learn German before applying for university, there are many options available in Germany and elsewhere as well. Many universities offer intensive courses that last one semester or summer term and lead up to an exam certificate at the end of it. There are also private schools offering more flexible lessons such as evening classes or weekend workshops where students can improve their skills at their own pace (and not spend all day in class!). Another option is taking an online course with [TeachMe!](http://www.teachme!de/) where experienced teachers reach out via Skype video calls every week so that participants can practice their conversation skills while watching them write down words or phrases on screen so they don’t forget what they’ve learned during each lesson session…

Submit Your CV and Resume

Your CV is a short version of your resume. It should include:

  • Your education, including universities attended and degrees received (if applicable).
  • Work experience, including internships and part-time jobs.
  • Any other relevant information that you think could strengthen your application (e.g., awards or special projects).

The most important part of your application is still the interview, but the CV can make or break it depending on how well it’s written and presented. So take some time to make sure that everything looks good before submitting it! The general rule of thumb is to have no more than two pages worth of content on each page; however, we recommend keeping things even shorter by making sure every paragraph has only one idea/sentence in it—this helps keep things concise when presenting yourself as an employee for potential employers later on down the line if all goes according to plan here at school!”

Proof of Work Experience

  • Proof of Work Experience

You must show that you have worked in the fashion industry. You can be a designer, marketing or sales specialist, creative director, model or a journalist. This could be through an internship or employment in any of these fields. If you are applying as a designer then it is highly recommended to show samples of your designs along with your application form.

  • Proof of Creative Capacity

If you do not have any work experience but want to pursue an academic program that uses creative methods such as product design, fashion marketing and fashion journalism then it is highly recommended that you take part in some sort of course related to your field such as courses on how to create clothing patterns/design clothes (for example at the Fashion Institute Berlin)

Reference Letters/Letters of Recommendation

Reference letters and letters of recommendation are a great way to help you get into fashion school. The letters should be from someone who knows you well, who can speak to your potential and character, and who can provide examples of your past work or achievements.

If you have no idea where to find such a person, ask around – there’s probably someone in your life who could write an excellent reference letter for you! Just make sure that the person writing it is qualified enough for the job (for example: if they’re not currently working in the industry, then it might not be so helpful).

Passport Photos

  • Bring a passport photo with you to your application appointment. It’s best if the photo is recent, but any photo that shows your face clearly will do.
  • Make sure the image quality is good—no smudges or blurriness.
  • Check that it’s the right size (35mm high x 45mm wide). This is usually printed on the back of most modern passports, so if in doubt, check there first!
  • Bring more than one copy just in case (especially if you have multiple applications).

It’s not easy, but if you put in the work you’ll make it.

The truth is that it’s not easy, but if you put in the work you’ll make it.

You will need to be prepared for a lot of paperwork and planning. You’ll need to be patient and persistent when things don’t go your way, or when people don’t respond to your emails or calls as quickly as they should. You’ll need to be flexible and adaptable so that if things do change unexpectedly (and they will), there’s no problem with changing course on a moment’s notice. And most importantly, you need resilience—the ability to bounce back from setbacks without letting them knock you down too much or give up on yourself entirely.
