If the recipient maintains a 3.25 GPA, the award can be renewed. Citizens of the United States who live abroad can apply through the DAR’s foreign chapter.

The Elie Wiesel Foundation Ethics Prize was established in memory of Elie Wiesel. 

This essay contest is sponsored by the Elie Wiesel Foundation for Humanity and is open to full-time undergraduate juniors and seniors. Applicants are free to write about whatever they want as long as their essay addresses an ethical question, problem, or issue. A personal concern, an academic study, an international catastrophe, or a challenge in film and literature are all possible topics. 

George Watt Essay Contest 

This award is given by the Abraham Lincoln Brigade Archives to students who prepare essays that demonstrate high levels of research and persuasive originality. Submissions can be written in either English or Spanish, but they must be about the Spanish Civil War. The Hawaii Community Foundation offers this scholarship to Hawaii residents who are full-time students at approved two- and four-year universities.
