Center For Coaching Certification (CCC) : CCC offers distance learning options where you can complete their 6 month course entirely online or through a combination of instructor led teleclasses and self study modules provided by mail or email.*
Results Coaching Systems (RCS): RCS is based out of South Africa but they do offer some certifications in other countries like Kenya, Ghana, Zimbabwe and more.*

1. International Coach Federation (ICF)
The International Coaching Federation (ICF) is the world’s largest coaching organization and is a leader in the field. They accredit coach training programs, provide certification to coaches all around the world, and offer membership options for coaches as well. The ICF provides a rigorous certification process that includes training hours, experience hours with mentoring, and an exam.
- Associate Certified Coach (ACC) – This is ICF’s entry-level credential that has no experience requirements but does require 60 hours of coach training before taking an exam. You can renew this certification every three years by accumulating 100 additional hours of coaching or 50 hours of continuing education credits, or take another exam for recertification.
- Professional Certified Coach (PCC) – This requires 125 total training/experience hours along with 10 mentored practice hours, among other requirements before taking an exam. Recertification follows the same rules as ACCs above with more coach/continuing ed hour accumulation required based on how often you renew (3-5 years).
- Master Certified Coach (MCC) – This credential has some of the most rigorous standards in all of professional coaching including 500+ total training/experience hours along with 25 mentored practice hours over several years before being invited to take an MCC assessment which consists of multiple rounds with significant preparation time between each round and feedback delivered after completing each round by a 3rd party assessor. Recertification can be accomplished through accumulating 2,500 paid coaching hour over five years or meeting various other criteria on their website including new continuing education coursework at approved programs like iPEC or CTI where I was trained at both schools and maintain MCC status now due to my accumulated paid client coaching experience since becoming certified in 2007 which counts towards recertifying as well – after passing your MCC assessment once you’ll never have to do it again unless you choose to let your credential lapse.

There are no prerequisites required for this course; however, students must demonstrate a basic understanding of coaching principles by passing an online assessment prior to course completion.

The International Coaching Community (ICC) is a coaching community and certification program.
This program is a global community of coaches who are committed to supporting each other on the journey to become better coaches.

5. Results Coaching Systems (RCS)
Results Coaching Systems (RCS) is an Australian coach training organization founded in 1997. It is accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF), which is a professional body for coaches. RCS offers programs based on neuroscience, positive psychology and neuro-linguistic programming. The certification they provide is available to beginners in business coaching as well as seasoned professionals looking to refine their skills.
RSC’s certification program, called “The Power of You,” can be completed online, making it an excellent choice for those who cannot commit to in-person classes. This program consists of three parts:

- Certified Coach Practitioner Program (CCP) – Designed to teach the art, science, and practice of professional coaching and prepare students for certification. Faculty is comprised of certified coaches, consultants, psychologists, educators, authors, entrepreneurs, and more. Students will learn how to apply their new skills in personal sessions with members of the community. The CCP coursework covers how to use positive psychology in coaching and how to coach different personality types. The program requires no academic prerequisites but does require at least two years of work experience plus three hours per week for 12 weeks (6 months total). Tuition is $3195 USD.
- Certified Mentor Coach – Allows graduates from an ICF-accredited coach training program to earn mentor coach certification through CEC’s online platform within nine months or less. This program provides the opportunity for CEC-certified CCP graduates or currently enrolled CCP students to earn a second credential in mentor coaching without having to attend any additional courses or pay any additional tuition fees above those already paid for their CCP program.
- Master Certified Coach (MCC) – Offered exclusively by CEC as an independent certification track separate from ICF accreditation pathways; it is recognized by a number of other organizations besides ICF including the Association for Talent Development (ATD), International Positive Psychology Association (IPPA), International Society on Priorities in Health Care (ISPHC), International Society on Wellbeing Research & Practice (ISWRAP), National Speakers’ Association (NSA), National Career Development Association (NCDA), National Society for Experiential Education (NSEE).
